Michael Holland is the Chairman of Holland & Company, a private investment firm he founded in 1995 in New York City. He is also the President and Founder of the Holland Balanced Fund. He began his career at J.P. Morgan in 1968 where he spent twelve years managing both equity and fixed income assets for major institutional clients as well as wealthy individuals. He served as Chief Executive Officer of First Boston Asset Management in the early 1980's and later served as Chairman of Salomon Brothers Asset Management. He has been Chairman of a number of mutual funds.

He has also been a General Partner of the Blackstone Group and the CEO of Blackstone Alternative Asset Management. He is also the former Vice Chairman of Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. He is a Director of The China Fund, Inc. and The Taiwan Fund, Inc., both listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He is Chairman of the Board of the State Street Master Funds.  He is a Trustee of the Vanguard Charitable Endowment.  A member of several committees at Harvard University, he is a former co-chairman of the Harvard College Fund. He is also a trustee of the Winston Churchill Foundation of the United States.

A regular panelist on the "Wall $treet Week with Louis Rukeyser," he is frequently seen on CNBC and often as guest co-host of CNBC's "Squawk Box." A regular guest on PBS's "Nightly Business Report," he has also been interviewed on NBC Evening News, CBS Evening News, ABC's "Good Morning America," CNN with Lou Dobbs, and NPR's "All Things Considered." He is regularly quoted in the leading financial publications, including the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times.
